Greetings to all existing members, administrators and fans of this site.
I looked around and noticed the activity on this forum which prompted me to join. I wished I was referred to this site but lucky I discovered it just by browsing. About myself: Retired Army guy who needs to remain active outdoors and found a way to get away from family when is time for my "cave" time! Thus the Quad (and other toys in my armory/garage/cave/me place). I joined the local hunting club in Wisebaden, Germany, and got myself certified as a Jagger (Hunter) in Europe. I volunteer for range activities locally and keeping busy with my kids. Travelling a lot in Europe, but I call Newport News, VA my home. My expectations from this site are simple; from learning through reading and listening treads, to interacting directly to those who think can offer sound advice, in order to maximize and enjoy the investment in my ride, along side all of you, and yours!
My ride is 18 y/o but only has about 3000 miles on it, still an adolescent, so I hope I get it ready and in tip-top shape before it turns 21...,with your help. I will search and read treads about: Freshening up a hibernating Grizzly, any treads that link with parts/maintenance stuff of products I can procure in Germany (unfortunately I can only receive letter size and weight stuff in my retiree post box from US right now, and the customs taxes for parts are pretty high around here). I am also looking to replace the old worn out tires on with newer "paws" and get a second set of/rims and tire set for street use (we can drive the quads on the streets around here , but not on the Autobahn... My biggest friend for parts here is Kleine Enzeige (a local/zip code eBay site). Language barrier is significant trying to ask and discuss Quad related issues with local folk, because any customizing and "what if" scenarios is just not in German culture when talking about what you can or cannot do..., so, there is a lot of "cannot" around.... Ok, I took enough space. I will take some pictures of my quad and post. If this is indeed the site for me, I will spring for the lifetime subscription and be able to post more stuff. Later, Spartacus
What machine do you have? We recommend listing machine info in a signature to make it easier for anyone helping with suggestions for mods or repair. We are also interested in seeing pictures out riding from your side of the world so post some up. Enjoy!
Well, it was a one time intro..., so I took it seriously, you know, first 5 min impression and stuff
Waw, I see I have the oldest Grizzly around..., am I? Some of you "strut" the 2017 models, CONGRATS! I intend to really take care of this machine, to give it a new life and live many more years, happy, in the wild!
Thanks Ridgway! I was posted at FT Carson for a while..
I always had problems with the "flora" affecting/perforating the soles of my boots..., so, I always wondered how hard are the sharp needles found at high altitude, on Quad tires? Wonder if there are any kevlar reinforced tires out there.., your experience? Never Quaded in Colorado...I wished I did, I could barely run 5 miles at that altitude in Carson..
