How do I tell the engine size on a 2007 model? I'm going to look at one the owner says is a Kodiak 600cc model today and it doesn't look like Yam made a 600cc model in 2007. I'm thinking it's either a 700 or a 400, but since I don't know c'mere from sic'em I don't know how.

Thanks!

No such thing as a Kodiak 600.

There was no Kodiak 700 in 2007.

In 2007, the Kodiak was available in 400cc and 450cc. The 450 had front diff lock and Low Range in the transmission. The 400 only had forward and reverse, and no diff lock.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks Dezz! I'm sure I'll be back with plenty of questions over the next few months.

Looks like I'll have a 2009 700 EFI instead. Hopefully this will be a good, reliable machine and great to learn on. It's more power than I was looking for but it seems to be the one everyone has great experience with. I guess it was meant to be!
