Don't have a swisher, but 54" is pretty small. I'd go with 60" if they offer it.
I plow about a 100 yards of dirt road with about 100' of 50% grade. First thing I did was toss the skids, they're pretty useless on the dirt. If you have roadbase or gravel on your drive, your going to plow a good bit of it off. Just plan on re-doing it in the spring.
