My little man bought a 2011-12. 300 grizzly the fan has been hotwired, it works by twisting 2 wires together and it comes on when it gets hot but kills the batt if left on. What part does he need to replace?

So when the ATV is cold you can connect the wires and it will not come on until it's hot? Does it shut off after running for a few minutes or just run continuously after that? Rough guessing a relay and maybe the temp switch.

Does it actually shut off once the rad has cooled down a bit? If so, them I'm leaning to the rad sensor/temperature switch. Most vehicles use them to turn the electric fan on and off. Some of the temp sensors are on the rad, other models have it on the engine. There's a bunch of you tube video's out there.
