I looking for a receiver hitch my Grizzly. The Factor one is nice but its 126 bucks cdn. I seen a kit from Curt 45029 i was wondering if anyone else has used one like it.

CURT Manufacturing - CURT ATV Towing Starter Kit #45029 its more than half the cost of the factory.

Please let me know what you think.

Run from that thing and don't look back. There are so many issues with that style. Too much leverage on a single mounting hole, twisting, etc.

If you're looking to save some $$$, I recommend this: http://www.grizzlycentral.com/forum/grizzly-talk/39938-cheap-easy-homemade-receiver-hitch-3.html I'll be doing my own before next summer. Already have all the parts needed.

Agree with wheelsquad above. That receiver type you showed is junk. It's still using the factory hitch, which is the problem and weak point. I've broken that off a few times before I made a receiver hitch that bolts to the frame.

And if you're just looking to buy one, then I'd go this route:

https://www.kfiproducts.com/yamaha-grizzly-and-kodiak-receiver-hitch-adapter.html Looks like KFI made their 16-18 Grizzly hitches to be the same as the 07-15's. That's not what I found from other manufacturers. And you can buy that at bargain prices here:
https://www.amazon.com/KFI-PRODUCTS-Receiver-Hitch-101280/dp/B01N33QDQI/
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/kfi-101280

Then I'd toss one of these in: https://www.amazon.com/CURT-45005-ATV-Ball-Mount/dp/B004QEKG96

I also was looking for a cheaper alternative than the Yamaha receiver hitch... At 62 bucks cdn, the KFI one looks much better than the Yamaha at 130 dollars!!!

Thanks!

I had pretty good results with this brand/style. Make sure you get the one that fits your year/model.
I managed to break mine and had to repair and reinforce it but as long as you're not hauling huge trailers of crushed rock for the local department of natural resources, and being aggressive on the throttle, it will probably hold up.

I started with the KFI before I bought the Quadboss. I couldn't get it to stay tight, and the U-bolts were crushing the frame. Sent a message to KFI about it, got nothing in the way of a response.

That's a bummer. I've liked the quality of all other kfi stuff I've come across.

I know for a fact that this other brand doesn't use u-bolts. They use the curved clamps that distribute the load like the oem yamaha ones, but for a much better price: https://northstaratv.com/2-receiver-hitch-mount.aspx

I know they've done some company re-structuring, so their website still leaves a lot to be desired. But I emailed the company a while back and they were responsive and emailed me the instructions that showed the clamps. And they only have the 700 hitches listed through 2013, but based on KFI's applications, it will likely fit the 2016-2018. Worth calling the company at least. Price is right at least.

Had a KFI on my 660 after breaking for the last time the OEM ball mounts, now on my 17, 700 works just fine and I use to haul a utility trailer with a good load of wood and for moving a full size trailer around. Sits higher and farther out which is a real benefit to the trailer .

The Moose brand I got from Dennis Kirk was about $80.00. Pretty well made, fits good. I fully welded the receiver tube to the mount plate, they only stitch weld it on one side. I'm going to add some gussets too. Should have made it myself, but I just didn't feel like spending another day in the shop on a weekend.

You can always try eBay i found a few that were 90$ CDN all in and genuine Yamaha parts too

I was looking at the aftermarket hitchs but they block access to the rear diff for service but the stock one still allows access and takes around 2min to install

Never had an issue with my KFI on my 2009 grizzly. Had it for 2 years. Towed many many cords of fire wood in my woods trailer many miles to home and back.
I now have the KFI on my 2016 grizzly and my father has on his 2012 grizzly 700. No issues with any of them.

KFI cost me $85 Canadian dollars. All others were double that from the local dealers. Main reason I chose KFI.
