I finally have the top front covers off thanks to you guys telling me how to do it. My next question is where is the best place to put the relay when you mount a winch ? It is a 2013 Grizzly 550 that I want to put the winch on . After looking under the front panels I am starting to think maybe I could do it myself . Thanks

I put mine under the “hood”. You can build simple brackets out of aluminum to mount it. Many run the contactor on the back of the winch plate. Several have regretted that decision.

I've ran mine on the back of the winch plate and been through hell on 3 different atvs and no problems. I agree that a drier spot would be ideal but wonder if the ones having trouble on the winch plate have the lower quality winches. I've also heard that the newer Warn stuff isn't as reliable as the older ones like I have.

I hear ya. I’m just of the school of though that the further I can get any and all of my electronics away from water, the better. Especially with the trend of how things are being built these days. And I think you’re right about the Warn stuff....
