So just pulled out my left rear axle. Everything looks okay, but my outer boot tore and the axle shaft pulled out of the outer cv joint. The spline looks okay, you can see where it's mared up a bit at the end where it spun against the joint but nothing it chipped, broken, etc. should I just press it back into the joint and run it?

The splines on the end of the shaft will have no effect of the axle strength itself, so if you cann still put the joint back on the shaft with a new boot a d it's not clicking when riding, then you saved the axle and ride on.

And don't forget to replace the torn boot!

Those outer joints are very hard to disassembly. In fact many people believe that they don't not come apart.
If the shaft pulled out of the outer cv you should to replace the circlip.
