I have a 2006 Kodiak 450 IRS and want to know affordable options to make the rear suspension stiffer to hold more weight. Are there stiffer shock options?

You do not need heavier shocks. You need heavier/stronger springs.

Highlifter Springs and/or spring spacers are what you want. The spring spacers are cheap and available on ebay.
The Highlifter helper springs operate much better though.

Put both the Highlifter springs and spacers on at the same time and it'll really carry good weight.....but it will also ride horribly. You can kiss your comfy ride quality good bye.
