was this the first time the oil filter has been off? make sure the new filter that there is oil on the rubber seal, a coating of oil on the new oil filter seal will make it come off alot easier, I dont think they put oil on the factory oil filter, it is a real pain to get off.​

 

Yeah, it shouldn't be that hard to take off. I put mine on hand tight and it stays put just fine and comes off easy enough too.

 

I don't think the dealership took it off on the first 200 mile fluid change I paid like 100 dollars for that..

My 700'6 was hard to get off as well. I used an old trick i learned working at goodyear take a long screwdriver or punch and tap it through the filter to break the seal.

 

Yep did that also it helped

 

Had it happen on my 660 once, now I run K&N oil filters, they have a 17mm nut on the end, they come off like butter!!
