Hi guys. I have a 2000 yamaha kodiak 400 4x4 that won't start. As soon as I try to start it the temp light comes on. And the atv has not been riding in a couple days. Does anyone know how to fix it. I appreciate your help thank you.

The temp light is suppose to come on when you hit the start button. It's the way you test it. Almost all Yamaha ATV's do it.

The temp light being on and it not starting has nothing to do with each other. The temp light will not prevent the engine from starting.

Does the engine turn over when you hit the start button?
Do you hear any clicking noises?
Have you tried using the pull rope starter, if equipped?
Is the neutral light operating fine?

use jumper cables and see if t will jump start from a truck or car. This will eliminate the battery
