Hey guys,

I'll try to explain the situation as best as I can.

I just got ready to take my Grizzly out for a ride, I let it warm up a bit as its a bit chilly outside. I got on it and my girlfriend got on the back, I put it into high, 4x4, I then lightly pressed the throttle and it started to move slowly. Then as I pressed the throttle harder the quad revved higher but we were still going very slow, eventually the quad came to a complete stop, and I was still pressing the throttle quite heavily. So we were like, wtf? She jumped off and I put the quad in reverse and backed her up to the garage again.. I tried to drive in forward and the same problem occurred. I tried her in 2 wheel drive, in low, in everything.. same problem.. and I have no idea whats wrong. I checked the oil, she has lots of oil. The breaks are working fine. We had the quad out for a ride a couple weekends ago and she worked fine.. We had it left outside for over a week... So it must be something electronic or something like that.. has anyone seen or heard of this before??

Please help!

Thanks.

If none of your brakes were locked up the problem area is obvious. Your cvt. You have no choice but to take it apart, measure belt width and the condition of the weights/grease. google grizzhopper dot com and use his 660 instructions (basically same as 700) for cvt maintenence.

Or if you used a non wet clutch compatable oil, with belt skip you should be able to smell burning belt I would think, with the won't oil your wet clutch will slip

nope thats not the case, the quad hasn't had anything done to it between rides. It just sat there.. So it might be the CVT. What exactly is shift linkage??

thanks a lot guys.
It's not the shift linkage, it's in your cvt and you have to pull the cover and watch it operate to see which part of it you need to disassemble and examine.

Pull the belt cover off the right side of the machine.

The belt should ride within 1/8 inch of the top of the sheave. If it doesn't then there is a good chance that the clutch weights are stock or out of the groove. This would explain a very bad low end start lack of power.
