So I downloaded the service bulletin from the link above so I could determine if my Kodiak serial # is included for the repairs even though my 2017 doesn’t use any oil. My serial # is way different than any of the 2017 serial numbers listed that are affected. I find this interesting, so must be not all 708’s made during the 3 years are affected. Yamaha must have it narrowed down to only those 708’s that were assembled at a certain facility would be my guess and they got piston rings from a different vendor. I think it would be interesting to know if anyone on this forum is having the oil consumption issue and their serial # isn’t on the bulletin like mine?

The VIN range on that bulletin does not make sense to me. They don't even look like VINs as listed on my 2017 title: 5Y4AMA7YHA______
So I guess mine is not included?
I have never had a single problem with it. 2000 miles now.
