Mine is all done up and works awesome. But doesnt work in reverse with the diff lock on, still cuts out. I was at the end of my ride and only time i had to use diff lock, so i was tired and didnt feel like messing around. Is this right tho? I was holding the diff override and still cutting out, but doesnt that just work in forward?

Correct, the override button only works with dif-lock when going forward...

so doing it Hebs way will let me keep the reverse light on when in reverse, weather i flip the switch or not, correct?????

and to activate the by pass i will have to flip the switch before starting the atv, correct???

I did mine the way Hebs write up is. If you have the switch off(reverse overridden) the light will also be off. When you have it on(limiter enabled) it would work as normal, light comes on. So no. As far as I know there is no way to have it overridden and still have your R light functional. Even with the dyna CDI you lose your light.

As for the bike needing to be off to switch it, I believe someone discovered you can just put the bike in neutral instead of shutting it down and switching.

I find I just leave it overridden all the time. The no R light doesn't bother me. I like the switch tho, in case a less experienced rider is on there. That rarely happens.

I did my mod like this so I don't have to turn off the atv to over-ride the reverse limiter.
It involves grounding a 2nd wire. I used the L/B(blue/black) park wire, located at the gear position switch.
You can find the gear position switch next to the reverse switch.
This will allow you to over-ride reverse at will, without having to stop the grizzly or put into
park before activating. When activated the reverse light goes out and the park light comes on.
Also the park light will stay on in whatever gear you are in until you turn off the switch.
In the schematic below I used a DPST switch but one could use a DPDT also.
Hope this helps some of you

it's easier if you just use one of these wire splice connectors... and then ground out the new wire you spliced the old one to...

(I just like the ability to turn it off when I let inexperienced people ride. The switch is still working perfect for me. People think it came like that.)[/b]
But those scotch lock splices are easy but are prone to fail, they aren't sealed and corode rather fast. Just a thought from experience. I like to solder ( tin ) my wires before making any connections and use di-electric grease to ward off any corrosion in the future.

Gerry,
I want to do same thing but I'm missing something in here.
Right now I spliced the new (green) wire into reverse switch. I located blue/black (park wire) from 4-pin connector ( comming out from gear switch). So what's next? Where in this thing is the switch and relay. I mean what is the order? The switch should be on reverse gorunding wire (the one I spliced to reverse switch)? And the blue/black (park wire) goes to coil in relay-which will close NO (normaly open) in it and by this will ground the reverse?:cussing::stupid:

My 700 grizzly has a tendency to kick and sputter while going forward. The reverse light flashes on and off and it acts like the reverse limiter is on while I'm going forward,..will this mod take care of that or...how do I fix the reverse light from coming on while I'm going forward?

All you need to do is replace the reverse/neutral switch and its sealing washer that sits on top of the middle transmission. It looks like a small sparkplug shaped sensor and sits to the rear of the starter. It has a single wire connected to it. About a $30 part.
You can gound that wire and it will stop the sputtering and eliminate the reverse limiter but the reverse lite will stay on all of the time.
