Well, I did some post searching and didn't really find anything ... saw some posting with WUN mentioning they weren't too bad, better than the other option I was looking at - CVman axles.
Then I bit the bullet and picked up two of the American CV replacement axles.
Not sure how they'll hold up, but the STI listing showed a picture of a Gorilla axle so sketchy is ... well ... sketchy.
Worst case it'll allow me to pull both my stock axles and reboot/regrease them. My stock boots are still good, but being almost 6 years old ... if I have to pull them off anyway.
Talked to Turner axles and they want $400 a piece ... Sure they'll be bullet proof, but I'd rather replace an axle than a diff or worse yet. Just can't justify that kind of coin.
Noted one post where a resident axle snapper recommended the STI axles over all other stock replacements as they had held up the longest. SO, may keep them in mind for later on if needed. Of course I found that post after I had made the purchase ... as is usually typical.
