Not sure, you would have to have some pretty serious fabrication skills because you are going to have to cut on the frame. Id like to see it though to shut the outty boys up!!

 

I never really looked at one, but I know on my 600 the tranny and engine share the same case. So you would have to have an aux. tranny with 4x4 to make it work.

I wanted to do something similar when I had a Scrambler 400 with a seized engine. They use a separate tranny with the 4wd stuff, so not too hard to mount a different engine.

I'm not sure if the swap is even possible, but, I'd like to think it is. One thing I am concerned about is the rest of the drivetrain.

Would the pumpkins and transmission even take the power without flying apart? Or the drive shafts and axle shafts?

 

Given the fact that the pto side of the engines are on opposite sides and the apex engine is just that, an engine with separate chain case. Would be interesting though.

 

I was looking it up and realized that the pulleys are on opposite sides.

Then, I went and thought the most horrible thought ever. "Well, now I need a different transmission so the pulleys would match. Maybe I could take a trans from a, gasp, Canam Outlander 1000 and mate that to the engine. Voila, pulleys on the same side."

LOL, this ain't gonna be a yammie after everything is said and done. Maybe I should just stop thinking now.

Gives me a bit of hope that this is even possible. Just not possible with the trans from a grizz.

Gonna find some pics of the parts and see what'll fit. If anyone has any dimensions of the Apex motor or a trans from a quad like a outy, the data would be great. At least until I can afford to get the components.

 

Turn it into a rwd chain drive and slam a 1000cc power plant from the R1 rocket in there.

 

PUT IT IN A RAPTOR FRAME, POINTLESS IN A GRIZZ FRAME SINCE 4WD WOULD BE IN OPERABLE. THEY PUT THEM IN THE RHINO UTV'S AS WELL
