I get your point. But in the past people make predictions on threads like these without any evidence, just pure speculation.....Its more of a dream than reality. After releasing 2 videos, one titled "It will All Become Perfectly Clear" and the other "Are You Ready?". if Yamaha comes out with a dud I could see full scale revolt from the Yamaha die-hards.....just my 2 cents

Anybody in sales knows that when expectations are set high,as Yamaha is doing, they had better deliver or suffer a severe backlash.

This product better redefine the market.

Yamaha never releases video's like this, which makes me "Speculate" it will be something worth releasing videos about. Cracks me up, they can never do anything right for some people, they release something and it gets backlashed, then they dont do anything and all you hear is wtf are they doing they never do anything cool.

They are to far behind now. They will never be able to compete with Polaris and canam. I'll bet a months pay u guys will be disappointed. Y? Cause, yes it's Yamaha and they are know for it. I'm in the market for a sxs and yamaha isn't even a thought. I'd be laughed off the trails if I bought a Yamaha sxs just like their sleds. I'm happy someone is looking forward to yamahas release cause it's more entertaining this way. I'll check back in around September to watch all the cool advances in the sxs world Yamahas cutting edge team has came up with. And there are people who will always defend and ride yamaha cause that's what they always bought.

What kind of odds are you giving?

So if I ride on your trails on my grizzly I'll get laughed at , isn't that nice . Remember not everyone wants a SxS I sure don't , as riding though my bush trails with a seat belt on, roll bar , roof and steering wheel don't appeal to me one bit .

" Yamaha isn't a real competitive company and most u guys use that as y the grizzly has never changed now u all think they will change? Come on make your mind up here. " Excuse me? The company that is leading points and has factory effort in Pro Motocross, ATV Pro motocross, Moto GP, Motocross GP, sponsors a class in off road truck racing called SR1 class that uses R1 motors for racing SxS's is not in your words "Competitive"? Every trail system or race track I went to this year I seen more Yamaha dirtbikes, atv's, than any other brand. Are they up to par in the sport SxS market yet? No but that doesn't mean that there are all these people laughing me or others off the trails because it says Yamaha on the side.

i would say you're partially right, yamaha is behind in the side by side dept, mainly due to the lawsuits they had to endure in the past. polaris, can am and arctic cat were left alone to innovate and reap the rewards.
i ride a lot too and the bulk of side by sides are polaris. whether they be rzrs or rangers, thats whats on the trail. i believe they have 80% market share. so it will take time for the other OEMS to catch up....now as far as atv's go, I still see a lot of yamaha's on the trail. i wouldn't say their technology is behind, they own the sport atv market. the japanese oems are just more conservative, where they lack in innovation they make up for in dependability. if polaris and can am could make as dependable an atv as yamaha, yamaha and honda would have long since exited the atv business.

but at this point they have to do something.....is this the right or wrong move?....I don't know, I enjoy seeing multiple brands offering good models, competition is good for the consumer.

Funny thing is, where I ride and who I ride with, the thing that gets a machine laughed at is getting towed home by another brand. Never seems to happen to our Grizzlies. Canams, Brutes, Arctic Cats and Polaris always good for a laugh. I guess one day we'll run out of gas or something and have to get towed.

I'll laugh when I get to tow a busted Polaris or Can-Am home....lol. Go ahead and laugh my Grizzly, lets go ride some tight woods trails, where that Can-Am is a pig.

I will have to ride solo this weekend or not go out at all, because my riding partner has a can-am. He just broke a second rear axle this month. Bummer for me and him.

You're just jealous because he owns a cutting edge piece of engineering and you are stuck with a lowly, laughable machine that was designed by Yoshi Flintstone. Join the Canam ilk so you too can know the pleasures of seat fires, ridiculous part prices, limp shaft ... er, limp-home mode, broken frames and best of all, looking down on those peasants who stuck with a turd like Yamaha

If I knew someone around here with an Outlander 1000, I'd wager $100 for a run on my local trails. It'd be an ass-kicking, that's for sure. The Grizzly handles really well in tight woods and hair-pin turns....where all that power the Can-Am has is useless.

That is if he can make the run without a breakdown.....lol!

I am mostly excited to see what motor they put in it. In that video clip it's clearly not a single cylinder and sounded more like a crotch rocket at idle. I don't think it revved fast enough for a 4cyl. Engine so who knows what it is.

I've heard quite a few of there 3 cylinder 900cc motors in the FZ09 FJ09, and its very similar sounding to this teaser. One of my friends bought a Can Am outlander 1000 and went riding with us last weekend, it was comical to see him not being able to use all the power unless we hit an open road, and by the end of the day he couldn't sit on the machine because it was so hot and he was complaining about it. Oh and he almost spent as much on it as most of the guys riding side by sides. Hey to each there own!

Jeeeeeeeeeez... No kidding! I've been noticing that for awhile. It started as, "I'll hang around and give yall the skinny on this thing." which everyone was down for. It quickly turned into, "Can Am rocks and all your Yamaha's suck." And now it's, "Look at how much money I [say I] make and how super cool I am." I'm glad you found something that makes you happy, jfree. But, now you have made an ass of yourself on this forum. No need for you to return in September. No hard feelings and don't go away mad... Just go away.

I've had less issues with this canam than my grizzly
dude. it is 1 year old. you better not have ANY issues.

so much brand bashing and worship. people love to defend what is theirs and bash what isnt. of course there is can am bashing around here. its not what most people drive here on, you know... a yamaha forum.

Every time I tell people I have a bad ass grizzly they all laugh and say well it's still a Yamaha though. I use to get mad and defense the grizz but now I see what they are saying after I have some seat time on another machine.
if you worry about people "laughing at you" because of what you drive, you need to grow up.

you are simply trolling at this point. there is absolutely no point in coming here and talking shit on grizzlys. you have a whole forum of can am fanboys to go sing that little song with.

oh i get it i am not trying to be disresectful by anymeans i love your reviews of both machines and learned alot from your posts and yes the sxs world yamaha lacks not going to argue i have not roe a can am yet will i some day maybe some of the guys do i am loyal to yamaha and wouldnt trade her for the world other than a nice sxs from yamaha if and when they come out yamaha isnt as powerful as can am cant really compare since they dont have vtwins i guess i took what u said personally and probally should of not ran at the mouth. like the gf says i have no filter and dont think before i say so i applogize if u felt like i was disrespecting u by anymeans i look forward to ur revirews and pros and cons of each

And I don't care what I ride or if people laugh at it.
sure you dont. which is why you brought it up.

i didnt call you a troll, i said that you were trolling. trolling is exactly what you are doing, whether you know it or not. trolling is coming onto a website and talking shit on something that other people are excited for, for absolutely no reason, other than to validate your own opinions, or to get a rise out of others for not agreeing with them... and then making bold claims like you will bet 30k on it? lol, right. im sure you would.

also trolling.... taking shots at someone just to rile them up. this nonsense about you being more valuable to the site has absolutely nothing to do with anything mentioned on this thread.

i post stuff around here giving people advice on things that i have experience with. just because i didn't make my engine a 734 and give advice to the 1% of people that do so, doesnt mean my advice on things like light bars and electrical mods that 99% of new people around here do is any less valuable. i understand tho. you need more validation of yourself. if talking shit on others gets you there, then go ahead buddy.

I don't really think having a class leading 700 class machine makes it outdated? I've rode the 16' Grizzly and in any trail it will keep up with the machines in its class. Just because Yamaha doesn't make a 1000cc mean that there 700cc automatically ranks it in the 1000cc category and comparisons. Normal Can Am crap talk

Dustin Nelson in his SR1 racing SxS. This guy is a factory test rider, Yamaha factory racer, and works for Yamaha and he's been racing these Yamaha R1 powered side by sides and kicking ass, just makes me wonder if there isn't a little research and development from these races going into the new September release
